What is GERD?
GERD (Gastro-oesophageal Reflux Disease), is a common condition, where acid from the stomach leaks up into the oesophagus. It is usually caused by a weakening of the muscle at the bottom of the oesophagus.

What are gallstones?
Gallstones are small stones, usually made of cholesterol, that form in the gallbladder. In most cases, they do not cause a problem and do not need to be treated.
Symptoms of gallstones
If a gallstone becomes trapped in an opening in the gallbladder, it can cause intense pain, nausea and vomiting. Gallstones can lead to complications such as inflammation of the gallbladder.
Treatment for gallstones
Our expert consultant will carry out a number of tests to help with diagnosis, these may include blood tests and an ultrasound scan. Following diagnosis and depending on the severity of the condition you may be prescribed painkillers, advice on diet and lifestyle, or if your symptoms are more severe then surgery may be recommended.
