Some anniversaries are celebrated with a special meal, a weekend away or a gathering with family and friends.
For two patients who recently visited CEDA Healthcare’s Private GP Clinic in Wokingham, however, there was only one fitting way to celebrate their remarkable journey together.
Forty years ago, the couple first met while taking part in a parachute jump. Four decades later, they decided to return to the skies for one final skydive together, celebrating their anniversary by revisiting the experience that had brought them into each other’s lives.
Before the jump, the couple attended a medical appointment with Dr Amer Sheikh at our Wokingham clinic in June.
Following their appointment, they were able to continue with their plans and mark their anniversary with an experience that held deep personal meaning for them both.
Their story is a wonderful reminder that healthcare is not only about treating illness. It is also about supporting people as they continue enjoying life, pursuing personal goals and celebrating the moments that matter most.

Few couples can say that their relationship began thousands of feet above the ground.
When the couple met during a parachute jump 40 years ago, they could not have known that it would mark the beginning of a lifelong journey together.
As their anniversary approached, they decided to honour that unforgettable first meeting by completing one final skydive side by side.
It was more than an adventurous day out. The jump represented four decades of shared experiences, companionship and memories.
As part of their preparations, they booked a medical appointment with Dr Amer Sheikh at CEDA Healthcare’s Wokingham clinic.
During a private GP appointment, the doctor can review the patient’s current health, relevant medical history, medication and any concerns connected with a planned activity.
Every appointment is handled individually and confidentially. The advice provided will always depend on the patient’s health, circumstances and the information available to the doctor.

After attending their appointment, the couple went on to complete their anniversary skydive together.
Forty years after meeting during a parachute jump, they returned to the skies to celebrate the beginning of their relationship and create another unforgettable memory.
Their story demonstrates that age does not necessarily have to bring meaningful experiences to an end. Taking sensible steps, seeking appropriate medical advice and understanding your own health can help you make informed decisions about the activities you wish to pursue.
At CEDA Healthcare, we were delighted that Dr Amer Sheikh and our Wokingham team could play a small part in such a special occasion.
We congratulate the couple on their anniversary and on completing an experience that so perfectly reflected their story together.
