Ear Wax Removal in Caversham
We remove ear wax gently using microsuction. Microsuction allows our clinicians to examine and treat the ear using a microscope and camera. We then use a miniature vacuum cleaner to extract wax. Microsuction is considered much safer than syringing.

Using microsuction ensures you have your ear wax extracted safely and by a clinician you can trust. The whole process usually takes less than 15 minutes and the majority of people find it easy and comfortable. The process is the safest way to remove ear wax as the professional can see everything they are doing during the removal.
Unlike ear syringing or ear irrigation, where ear wax is flushed out without a view of the ear canal, during microsuction, the ear canel and the ear wax is being directly viewed with the microscope whilst it is being removed. This makes the procedure much quicker, safer and more comfortable for the patient.
The procedure is performed by Doctors, Audiologist and Nurses.

Children aged 8-15 can also be seen for microsuction. This must be booked in with one of our GPs. The cost is £120 for an appointment which includes microsuction removal if necessary.
